My Story

I grew up in Western North Carolina, an excellent area for hiking, camping, and exploring. I went to school for Biology before deciding to take a gap year (that turned into a gap decade) and travel the US (that turned into the US, Canada, Mexico, and South America). Since my first riding holiday in Greece, it has been difficult to travel any other way. You see types of terrain you would never get from a car or even on foot. You meet extraordinarily kind and welcoming people from cultures completely different than yours. You get to ride tons of different breeds, ages, and personalities of horses. And the food… well I won’t even get into that.

I took a 2.5 month trip to South America where I joined various rides and estancia stays while photographing the experiences. At the same time I came in contact with Claibourne Jordan, who just opened her new equestrian travel agency, Saddle Sojourn Travel. We got to talking and decided that I would partner with her company to promote rides with my partners in Latin America.

All of my rides have either been personally tested by me, or I am familiar with the operators, to ensure a safe, exceptional experience. I host 2-3 rides a year where I test out new trails, stays, or return to visit old friends while bringing a group exclusively from Long Rein Rides and Saddle Sojourn along. Reach out for more info, questions, or even just to chat horses!
